MEDIACI’s Open Innovation Lab (OiL 1.07) gathered once again, now under the auspices of the Waag Society, in Amsterdam. This was a reduced assembly with the pragmatic goal of defining a roadmap of initiatives to implement the conclusions of the first OiL in Lisbon: “Defining a dynamic model to map the European media industry (past, present, future) in a way that we can feed research/foresight, education/training and business development”.

As one of the foremost new media events, the PICNIC of Amsterdam had to be a mandatory stop for Biodroid. Conferences, art exhibitions and social networking games were the main focus of our visit, ever searching for the creativity out there.

MyGames Zon is a multidisciplinary 3-day event which includes several activities all closely related to the digital entertainment industry, with a special focus on videogames, including World Cyber Games. It is the first event of its kind to be set in Lisbon, Portugal, and 20.000 visitors are expected to attend.

Biodroid was invited to participate in a round table to discuss the development of videgames in Portugal and Diogo Horta e Costa explained Biodroid’s approach and gave a brief overview of international market trends.

Biodroid Entertainment and Les Humanoides Associés have signed a deal on “Luchadores Five”, one of the segments of the “Lucha Libre” universe created by Jerry Frissen (writer) and Bill (artist). The licence includes the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 platforms for worldwide distribution.

This popular comic series, loosely based on the masked Mexican wrestlers, has been published in France and the USA (Image Comics). A line of action figures is also available.

Biodroid Entertainment and Editions Delcourt are pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement to bring “Pink Diary” to the Nintendo DS.

The French manga series (8 books) authored by Jenny is to be the basis of a dating sim and digital diary game aimed at young and teenage girls and is schedule for launch during 2009.

Biodroid Entertainment and Groupe Glénat are pleased to announce they have signed a videogame worldwide deal to bring “Zblucops” to the Nintendo Wii console.

The French comic book series authored by Bill and Gobi is the starting point to an action-adventure game aimed at teenagers and young adults and is scheduled for launch during 2009.
