In our usual scouting mode, Biodroid’s Tiago Ribeiro and António Saraiva attended Festival International de la Bande Dessinée d’Angoulême for a second round of meetings with French-Belgium comics’ publishers, pursuing a series of IP deals that were close to completion. These are all new IP that are already growing fast but still have a great potential. Plans were made for a Biodroid showcase at the next FIBDA in Portugal.
TR: “Angoulême is the place to really understand the impact that Manga and manga-styled comics is having on the teenagers and the comics industry. The Belgian-French fortress has been conquered and wide-eyed kids were storming the show looking for their far-eastern heroes. CLAMP studio exhibition was a huge success”.
